The Hollow Pines Asylum
Hollow Pines Asylum was at the end of a dirt road, all overgrown and quiet. For years, folks around here whispered about the old abandoned mental hospital—nobody went near it after dark. They said patients were left to die in the basement, and doctors did weird stuff until they just vanished. However, in 2014, a small group of YouTube ghost hunters, known as Phantom Seekers, ventured out, seeking to be the first to obtain proof.
The video they posted was just thirty-one minutes long, and nobody ever heard from them again. The video starts out normal: shaky cameras, nervous jokes, a walk through peeling paint, and graffiti. The air was thick with mold and the buzzing of their gear. This place feels wrong, one of them said, but the others didn't care. They walked down a long hall until the walls changed—white padded cells, stained with rust where restraints used to be. One person whispered, You hear that? The audio caught faint scratching, like nails on the walls. They laughed nervously, but didn't see the shadows crawling on the ceiling, moving with the flashlight.
The deeper they went, the weirder the building got. Doors that were closed were now open. The signs didn't match the map they printed. Hallways were super long, with doors that were just blackness. At twenty-two minutes, one camera fell. It pointed up, catching the team yelling at something. The audio was messed up, with loud static. For a second, a figure showed up—white gown, messy hair, head twitching like its neck was broken. The camera went black. When it came back on, just one person was left. His flashlight went everywhere as he ran down a hall that seemed to fold. He was crying, out of breath, begging for help.
Then, he stopped, holding the camera up, eyes wide and red. He whispered, It’s not letting us leave. The last thing was his face in the camera light, mouth open in a silent scream as a pale hand grabbed his neck and pulled him into the dark. The screen went black. The channel never posted again. The police said the hospital was empty when they got there, but they never found the Phantom Seekers’ gear. But the people here say if you drive past Hollow Pines late at night, you can still hear screaming. And if you look closely, you can see flashlights moving—looking for a way out.
